Cowgirl Rag Quilt

YEEEEHAW!

I AM SOOOO HAPPY!!!! My first quilt~! TAH DAH!
I was looking for something a little easier to get my foot in the door. It was nice to do, took me only an hour or so to piece everything together, the biggest thing was the CUTTING.....oh my goodness.....

I had 3 yards of the cowgirl fabric. I bought it like 4 years ago? I had wanted to do my girls room in it, but decided finally to do a quilt instead.
I also had bought the pink cherry fabric from Joann's like a year ago. I am so glad I am finally using this stuff.
Oh, you know what, I already had the blue gingham too. Completely slipped my mind.
The cowgirl fabric is from Michael Miller's collection. I just love almost every fabric in there!
I then just had to buy the blue star fabric (can't recall the name right now) and the red pin dot. I am absolutely GAGA for pin dots. I want some in EVERY COLOR!
It has a fleece lining. So SOFT, So Comfy! This is lap sized as you can see. It's a Christmas gift for someone special :) I am getting prepared to make another one for someone else who I know will appreciate it!

See! It's reversible! As you can see from this photo, it looks like a normal quilt on the other side! :)
If you are interested in the pattern, check it out here.

So, what do you think? Make sure if you do this to space out the times you are cutting, I did it in one night and my hand has never hurt so bad in my life..... :)

Until next time,
Steph

  1. This is an amazing quilt. Possibly the best I've ever seen. I've got to hold this quilt my sweet wife made and it is so soft. If it were any bigger I'd completely wrap up in it and spend the winter in it. You did a great job hunny. I am so proud. If this is your first quilt I'm afraid how amazing your following quilts will be.
